Antenatal screening
HCV antibodies
- if positive send: HCV RNA, LFTs
> if RNA negative (?false pos, ?cleared past inf, ?successful treated, ?low-level viremia): HCV serology at 18mo
> if RNA positive (5% transmission risk)

> if RNA positive (5% transmission risk)
- Refer mum to adult ID or Gastro for treatment postpartum
- NVD ok but minimise invasive procedures
- Ok to breastfeed (express and discard during episodes of nipple cracked/bleeding
- Check HCV RNA at 3m > if neg check HCAb at 18mo. If Ab neg = not infected, if pos check RNA again
- If HCV RNA pos at 3 or 18m refer to ID or gastro
