Faecal Fat, fat globules (Maldig: exocrine/bile), fatty acids (malabsorption)
Carbohydrate: stool reducing substances high, pH low
(not clinically obvious until 95% of pancreas destroyed)
IBD/short gut/pancreatitis/CF/bacterial overgrowth
Bacterial overgrowth ? mixed changes nutrients to undigestable: maldig, and into toxins that damage gut: malabs
Iatrogenic
obese on Orlistat (lipase inhibitor)

- lactose, sucrose or glucose/galactose
(not clinically obvious until 95% of pancreas destroyed)
- Normal > 200 µg/g
- moderate insufficiency 100-200
- severe <100
- (low in insufficiency or noncompliance with Creon)
- disaccharidases
- coeliac
- jejunal for giadia (rarely required)
- IBD
